Carbondale Area’s Student’s Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) elected a president and a vice president for the 2019-2020 school year.
President Olivia Manarchuck and Vice President Vanessa Sawyer were chosen to lead the group this year.
SADD members participate in Red Ribbon Week the last week in October. They sold red ribbons throughout the lunch periods to encourage students not to use cigarettes, alcohol or drugs and to make good decisions.
Tricia Liuzzo is the club advisor.
Senior, Vanessa Sawyer has big goals for the club.
“I hope to make students aware of the consequences of making destructive decisions and to advocate for making better choices so as to avoid major mistakes that can be very costly,” she said.
