The Carbondale Area Chargerettes and the Forest City Lady Foresters joined forces on Tuesday, Oct. 15 to help the fight against cancer by hosting a Red Card for Cancer game. The teams raised money through the sale of T-shirts, bracelets, pin-ups and concessions. All money raised was donated to the American Cancer Society.
The Foresters reigned victorious over the Chargerettes with a final score of 6-3.
Carbondale Area sophomore Alexis Price is proud of her team’s fight both on and off the field.
“I think having this game is a great way to raise money for the American Cancer Society,” said Price. “This is a part of the larger division called Coaches versus Cancer. It’s also a good way to bring everyone together to support a cause that’s near and dear to many of our hearts.”
