Five students from Carbondale Area took part in the Pennsylvania Media and Design Competition at Keystone College. This competition is sponsored by NEIU No. 19 and is an annual competition that showcases the many technologically talented students from area schools.
Each of these students did a graphic design for the logo to be used by the competition next year. They also used their graphic design skills to create marketing essentials for their business. They created letterhead, an 11-inch-by-17-inch poster, business cards, calendars, envelopes, flyers and brochures. In addition, the students had to silk-screen their graphic designs onto T-shirts. The team of Alyvia Schiavone and Aniela Connolly took home the third-place award in the logo/graphic arts category.
