Joseph Borosky, physics teacher at Carbondale Area, recently led a group of students who competed at the Hayes Competition at the University of Scranton. This competition is put on by the physics department of the university. Students participated in various activities to increase their awareness of the practical applications of their physics subject matter. The activities included a written test, a look at the physics behind shooting a basketball and the physics behind skiing and snowboarding.
