The Archbald Police Department is taking part in teen seat–belt enforcement activities, which run through Sunday, Sept. 22.
The enforcement, coupled with educational outreach efforts, aims to increase teen seat-belt use and raise awareness of the state law which states that all vehicle occupants younger than 18 who are cited for a traffic violation will be receive a second ticket if they’re unbuckled.
The Archbald police visited Valley View High School recently to educate the students on teen driving laws and to make sure they buckle up. A seat belt check was held as students left school for the day.
The Carbondale, Dickson City, Scott Twp., Jermyn, Throop and Mayfield police departments are also participating.
