Jessup is gearing up for the annual St. Ubaldo Day festival. Here's what's in store this week. All events are in Jessup, unless otherwise indicated.

Saturday, May 22. 8 p.m. The Family of Saint Anthony social at Michael Sterner American Legion Post No. 411, 508 Church St. Amission is $5. Deejay, 50/50 and basket raffle. Finger foods and italian specialties will be available. Cash bar. Visit for more information

Sunday, May 23, 1-4 p.m. The 13th annual Jessup wine tasting at Station Park. Local winemakers will be showcasing their wares. The St. Ubaldo Society will be selling merchandise.

Monday, May 24. 5-8 p.m. The Saint Ubaldo Society will hold its annual porketta sandwich sale at the St. Ubaldo Society Cultural Center, 310 Third Ave. Tickets are $5 for two freshly made porketta sandwiches. Tickets are available from society members or by calling 876-2324.

Monday, May 24. 7 p.m. Veneration of the Most Holy Relic of St. Ubaldo. at St. Ubaldo Cultural Center, 310 Third Ave. A small prayer service and confessions will be followed by decoration of St. Mary's Church.

Tuesday, May 25, 6 p.m. The Family of St. George frittata dinner at St. George's Restaurant, 304 Church St. Cash bar. 50/50 raffle.

Wednesday, May 26, 4 p.m. Practice for the ceraioli will be held at Jessup Veterans Memorial Field.

Wednesday, May 26, 8 p.m. The St. Ubaldo Society clam bake will be held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5544, 205 Dolph St. Admission is $10. Entertainment by Jacob Vanko.

Thursday, May 27, at 7 p.m. Pianist (and Valley View High School alumnus) Gilbert Gambucci will present a special American/Italian piano program at Valley View High School, 1 Columbus Drive, Archbald. Admission is free. Donations will benefit underprivledged children of Brazil.

Thursday, May 27, 8 p.m. A St. Ubaldo Society social will be held at the Michael Sterner American Legion Post No. 411, 508 Church St. Entertainment by Gabriele. Dancing, finger foods and refreshments. Admission is free. A 50/50 drawing and basket raffle will also be held.


The Jessup Hose Co. No. 2 and Ambulance Corp. will hold its annual family carnival Wednesday, May 26, through Monday, May 31. Hours on Wednesday and Thursdau are 6-10 p.m. Call 489-1141 or visit for more information.
