State Rep. Bridget M. Kosierowski, D-Lackawanna, presented a House citation to volunteer firefighter Alan Rudalavage for his heroic actions.
Just after midnight on Sept. 6, Greenfield Township Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a house fire with entrapment on Shadyside Drive. Rudalavage was the first to arrive on the scene and was able to locate the victim and get her safely out before any fire apparatus arrived.
Officials say the woman was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital and is still recovering in stable condition. They believe without Rudalavage’s quick actions, or had firefighters waited any longer, the victim would not have survived.
“Firefighters and first responders put their lives on the line every time they answer a call,” Kosierowski said. “I am proud to present the citation to Alan Rudalavage for his bravery and life-saving actions.”
