Megan Kishbaugh of Olyphant was one of 36 Kutztown University students to be inducted into the Iota Iota Iota, known as Triota, the Women’s and Gender Studies Honor Society.
Melissa Morgan of Carbondale, a student at West Chester University, has received the 1871 Award. This award was to recognize high achieving students. It was based on academics, leadership, community engagement and career readiness. Morgan is a senior at West Chester, majoring in accounting and finance, with a minor in mathematics. She will graduate summa cum laude and begin her professional career at KPMG this summer.
Dylan Rowland, a senior at Carbondale Area High School, has been named a “scholastic superstar” this year in the Times-Tribune contest. Rowland He is ranked third out of 87 students in the senior class. He is a member of the National Honor Society. He holds the position of vice president of the student technology association and is a member of FBLA, PJAS, Spanish Club, SADD and the Physics Club. He has attended the Hugh O’Brien leadership forum and has attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He also attended the Keystone Boys State Leadership Forum. He has been a member of the soccer, track and field and golf teams.
Rowland has been accepted into the Army ROTC program at Penn State and will attend college at University Park in the fall to study mechanical engineering.
Wilkes University student Cody Morcom of Scott Township was among the students, faculty and staff recognized at the Extracurricular Awards Luncheon for their contributions to activities outside the classroom. Morcom received the Outstanding Service and Dedication Award presented by Office of Residence Life.
