The inaugural C-dale Skatecomp at the Belmont Street skatepark in Carbondale was well-attended. Approximately 100 participants and spectators crowded the skatepark to enjoy music, food, competition and exhibition events in the early fall weather.

Organized by the Greater Carbondale Area Ministerium, which is composed of pastors and community leaders for the youths of Carbondale area. The Ministerium and community businesses sponsored gift certificates as awards for first-, second- and third-place prizes.

Among those pitching in: Convenient Food Mart, Royal Pizza, Subway, Dunkin Donuts, McDonald’s, Carwanna, Plains Bicycle Shop, Mayor Justin Taylor, city clerk Michelle Bannon, the city Department of Public Works, Carbondale Police Department, Cottage Hose Co., the Greater Carbondale YMCA and participating Carbondale area churches.
